I believe there is a long thread on him at Texas Hunting Forum. I recall seeing him advertise on TPWD lease listings. Would not doubt that his fraud contributed to them shutting down the lease listings. Lease scammers are pure scum.

we were able to get ours back fairly quickly, but we did start filing with our DA but didnt have to follow through with it.

Especially if he was pulling these shenanigans now defunct TPWD lease site (when it was running).

Wow how sorry of a person. I wouldn't do this to my worst enemy.

So someone explain how he scams exactly. He leases up land and then advertises sub-leasing at high $ I assume for short term or day lease to different hunters and just stages the places and takes the money upfront and then never comes through on an actual hunt? The ole bait and switch if I'm correct on this?

For the amount of money he seems to be stealing from people, I am surprised someone hasn't "permanently rehabilitated" him of his scamming ways.

I'll explain my experience with him - it was probably a bit less INTENTIONAL than some of what has happened to others, but . . .
We ran across a listing he had for 1,300 acres. This was a portion of larger ranch (maybe 7,500 acres?). He was including other parts of the ranch in his scheme to get 'subscribers' to pay to hunt at several different properties. Anyway, on the 1,300 acres, there was a campsite designated to which he WAS GOING TO get electricity. We paid in August, and as days turned into weeks, electricity was not provided. I brough my RV from old lease to park at new place and RIGHT NEXT TO our campsite he had 6 mini-cabins placed for people hunting the big part of the ranch to stay in - ON OUR 1,300 acres!
As it became obvious that he didn't have the money for the electrical work (for our campsite OR for the cabins), we insised on getting our money back. He doesn't have money, so he said he'd pay us when/if he got replacements. Unfortunately for him, we had paid via credit card on his website so we disputed the charges and got our money back.
I don't think he ever got the electricity installed and I'm certain the landowner kicked him to the curb after that ill-fated year.
I'm not sure how much he initially paid the landowner and I don't know where he got the money for the cabins (we did not pay him enough to buy all of those).

what I wonder about is that he has minions who will talk to folks when they call to inquire about his ads for various hunting rights - and it is all focused around "a ministry" - who on earth would sign on with this guy and share his lies and scams?? Sick IMO
