Ayaka Best Builds FAQs

Should I pull for Kamisato Ayaka?

Is Mistsplitter Reforged worth it?

Want to know thebest builds for Ayaka in Genshin Impact? Ayaka is everyone’s favourite Kamisato sibling and one of the strongest five-star Cryo DPS units in the game to date.

Using a sword, Ayaka’s playstyle centres around her passive Cryo infusion, powerful Skill and Burst, and strong Charged Attacks. To this end, the best builds for Ayaka lean into her main DPS playstyle.

Elsewhere in Genshin, make sure you read ourbest builds for Furinaand thebest builds for Charlotte, both of whom incidentally pair extremely well with Ayaka in Freeze teams. Now, on to Ayaka’s best builds in Genshin Impact.

Ayaka best builds for DPS

Genshin Impact - Ayaka best builds and weapons to use (1)

Kamisato Ayaka is a Cryo Sword user who best suits the role of a main DPS. She can be used as a sub-DPS, but her kit is centred around her being on-field and dishing out pain to enemies. Her Charged Attacks have big damage multipliers and her Skill and Burst both work to enhance her normal attacks.

When it comes to Ayaka best builds, you will want to focus on the typical DPS setup for her Artifacts and team comps. To put it simply, Ayaka should always be built as a main DPS. The table below has a brief outline of the best builds for Ayaka and we will explain why further down.

Ayaka best Artifacts as Main DPS

The best Artifact set for Ayaka is the four-piece Blizzard Strayer. If you want the best Ayaka build, utilising this set will get you on your way to shaping Ayaka into a powerful character.

Blizzard Strayer is amazing for several reasons, but the biggest boon it provides to characters is the increase in Crit Rate, which makes building your Cryo DPS characters much easier, effectively giving Ayaka a 40% Crit Rate increase for free. As of the most recent Genshin patch, Blizzard Strayer outperforms all other Artifacts for Ayaka. This table shows the Artifact sets for Ayaka’s best builds.

Artifact SetSet BonusReason
Blizzard Strayer x4Two-piece bonus: Cryo DMG bonus +15%.
Four-piece bonus: When a character attacks an opponent affected by Cryo, their Crit Rate is increased by 20%. If the enemy is Frozen, Crit Rate is increased by an extra 20%.
The four-piece Blizzard Strayer is the best Artifact set for Ayaka. It synergises with her abilities and rotations perfectly, since it will enhance Ayaka’s Cryo DMG, and give her a boost in Crit Rate when attacking Cryo-effected or Frozen enemies. Since Ayaka’s kit is based around Cryo DMG and Freeze, this is the perfect option for her to get the benefits of the Artifact set.

For Ayaka’s Artifact stats, she will need to be built as a standard DPS, which means you need an ATK% Sands, a Cryo DMG Goblet, and a Crit Rate or Crit DMG Circlet. Use this table below for information on Artifact stats for Ayaka best builds.

Blizzard Strayer is optimal for Ayaka

Ayaka can get the 20% Crit Rate from her attacks thanks to infusion, Skill, and Burst, but she will need a Hydro teammate to induce Freeze for the extra Crit Rate. Thanks to this, Ayaka can almost always opt for a Crit DMG Circlet, making it easier to attain the best build for Ayaka.

You should always aim for a ratio of two points of Crit DMG for every one point of Crit Rate –for example, this translates to 50 Crit Rate and 100 Crit DMG – to give you the perfect balance and the best build for Ayaka.

Ayaka best weapons as Main DPS

Genshin Impact - Ayaka best builds and weapons to use (3)

The best weapon for Ayaka is the Mistsplitter Reforged, which is her signature 5-Star weapon. Since this can only be obtained from the Weapon Banner that runs alongside Ayaka, you have a limited chance to get it. To this end, you might want to consider other alternatives that are just as good, if only a little bit worse than Ayaka’s best-in-slot weapon.

Outside of the obvious secondary five-star option that would be Haran Geppaku Futsu, Ayaka’s best weapons include The Black Sword or Amenoma Kageuchi. The Black Sword is from the Battle Pass, but the Amenoma Kageuchi can be forged completely for free in Inazuma. Check out Ayaka’s best weapon options in the table below:

WeaponMain StatPassive EffectOur Reason
Mistsplitter Reforged (5*)Crit DMGGain 12% Elemental DMG bonus for all elements and receive the might of the Mistsplitter’s Emblem. At stacks 1/2/3, the Emblem provides an 8/16/28% Elemental DMG bonus for the character’s elemental type. The character will obtain one stack of Emblem in each scenario: Normal Attack deals Elemental DMG, casting Burst, and Energy is less than 100%. Each stack’s duration is calculated independently. This weapon increases Ayaka’s Crit DMG and the overall power of her Cryo Attacks. Since Ayaka gives herself Cryo Infusion, this weapon is an all-around buff for Ayaka’s kit since she has 100% Cryo DMG output instead of dealing Physical DMG with her Normal Attacks.
Haran Geppaku Futsu (5*)Crit DMGObtain 12% All Elemental DMG Bonus. When other nearby party members use Elemental Skills, the character equipping this weapon will gain 1 Wavespike stack. Max 2 stacks. This effect can be triggered once every 0.3s. When the character equipping this weapon uses an Elemental Skill, all stacks of Wavespike will be consumed to gain Rippling Upheaval: each stack of Wavespike consumed will increase Normal Attack DMG by 20% for 8s.Similarly to Mistsplitter, the Haran Geppaku provides a bonus to overall Normal Attack DMG as well as a boost to Cryo DMG. Thanks to this, Ayaka’s Normal and Charged Attacks will dish out extremely big-number hits.
The Black Sword (4*)Crit RateIncreases DMG dealt by Normal and Charged Attacks by 20%. Additionally, regenerates 60% of ATK as HP when Normal and Charged Attacks score a CRIT Hit. This effect can occur once every 5s.The Black Sword works extremely well for Ayaka thanks to its emphasis on Charged and Normal Attacks. Since Ayaka will use these two a lot alongside her Burst and Skill, she can keep constant high damage on enemies without relying on using her Burst all the time.
Amenoma Kageuchi (4*)ATK%After casting an Elemental Skill, gain 1 Succession Seed. This effect can be triggered once every 5s. The Succession Seed lasts for 30s. Up to 3 Succession Seeds may exist simultaneously. After using an Elemental Burst, all Succession Seeds are consumed and after 2s, the character regenerates 6 Energy for each seed consumed.Ayaka has a short cooldown for her Elemental Skill, which makes it extremely easy for her to benefit from the passive effect. The idea behind using this is to focus more on using Skill immediately to then power up your Burst.
Harbinger of Dawn (3*)Crit DMGWhen HP is above 90%, increases Crit Rate by 28%.As the only three-star sword with a Crit DMG bonus stat, the Harbinger of Dawn can work well on Ayaka. The passive effect is nice if you have a healer and don’t use Furina, but overall you will see better results with other weapons. It isn’t terrible, which is why you should consider using it if you have fewer options.

✓ Jack’s Opinion

Ayaka’s best weapon

We would recommend The Black Sword if you have it, otherwise go for Amenoma Kageuchi. Failing either of these options, the Harbinger of Dawn and the Kagotsurube Isshin will suffice until you get The Black Sword or Amenoma.

Ayaka Talent priority

Ayaka’s talents increase her Normal and Charged attacks, her Skill, and her Burst. All of Ayaka’s kit and abilities synergise incredibly well together, but Ayaka is a character who isn’t dependent on her Burst and Skill to deal damage, which makes her extremely versatile.

Due to this, you should level her Talents in this order: Normal/Charged Attack, and then level her Burst, and finally her Skill. You can level them all at the same rate if you want since Ayaka will benefit from increasing every part of her kit.

Ayaka’s Constellations

Ayaka has some extremely broken Constellations, to the point where they are needlessly powerful. C0 Ayaka is amazing from the start, and you should only consider pulling for her Constellations if you can afford to, otherwise, it is generally not worth it to try due to the high level of investment it requires.

We don’t recommend pulling for multiple constellations on the featured banner characters simply because it costs so much resources and no game or character is worth spending that much money on. Bear in mind that you don’t need to pull for his Constellations to utilise Ayaka’s best builds in Genshin.

ConstellationEffect
Snowswept Sakura (C1)When Ayaka’s Normal or Charged Attacks deal Cryo DMG, it has a 50% chance of decreasing the CD of her Skill by 0.3 seconds. This effect can occur every 0.1 seconds.
Blizzard Blade Seki no To (C2)When using her Burst, unleash two smaller additional Frostflake Seki no To, each dealing 20% of the original storm’s DMG.
Frostbloom Kamifubuki (C3)Increases the level of Ayaka’s Skill by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Ebb and Flow (C4)Foes damaged by Ayaka’s Burst will have their DEF decreased by 30% for 6s.
Blossom Cloud Irutsuki (C5)Increases the level of Ayaka’s Burst by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Dance of Suigetsu (C6)Ayaka gains Usurahi Butou every 10s, increasing her Charged Attack DMG by 298%. This buff will be cleared 0.5s after Ayaka’s Charged ATK hits an opponent, after which the timer for this ability will restart.

Ayaka Best Builds FAQs

Should I pull for Kamisato Ayaka?

Ayaka is widely considered the best melee Cryo DPS in the game, and she has stood the test of time. If you need a strong Cryo DPS, then yes it is probably worth grabbing her when her Banner is up. In terms of a future-proof character, Ayaka ranks high.

Is Mistsplitter Reforged worth it?

In general, no. The Weapon Banner is ridiculously tough to pull on if you want just one weapon. You have to reach Pity three times if you don’t get it the first two times, which is a huge Primogem investment.
